As the new semester gets rolling, many of you may be juggling a heavy courseload, an internship, and/or working (and a social life, of course)! There aren't enough hours in the day! I feel like I've become an expert in dealing with a lack of sleep. But obviously, you don't want to walk in to class or work looking like a zombie: it's a tad unprofessional.
Here are some of my tips to looking awake, and the products that I use!
- MY GODSEND CONCEALER: Cover up those dark circles! This cream concealer is a MUST HAVE for any exhausted woman. Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage ($32) - my shade: SC-3
a. CLOSE SECOND: I recommend this if you prefer a liquid concealer. KAT VON D Lock-It Tattoo Concealer ($25) - my shade: Medium 26
b. CHEAPER ALTERNATIVE: This is an awesome cheaper alternative. It's a concealer in liquid pen-form. Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer ($7.99) - my shade: Ivory
- LASH CURLER: Curled lashes open up your eyes and make them look larger. It peps things up. Sephora Collection Lash Curler ($17) - color: Rose Quartz
- MASCARA: After you curl your lashes, swipe some mascara on those lashes to set them for the day! Maybelline Volum' Express The Falsies Mascara ($6.99) - color: Blackest Black
- EYESHADOW: Highlight your inner corners of your eyes and under your brow bone with any white shimmer eyeshadow, like this NYX one in White Pearl ($4.99). It draws in more light and makes your eyes look bigger.
- SPOON: Yup! You read that correctly. With a lack of sleep, eyes tend to puff up. Keep a spoon in the freezer and deflate your puffy eyebags by resting the cold spoon on them.
I hope this helps you look a little more lively! It's tough, but try to hold on and pull through.
NOTE: It's best for your health if you get at least 6 hours of sleep. It's not worth risking your life just to look good to your internship supervisor.
Be safe, and good luck!
