Over the years, I'd like to think that my technique has gotten better, and with that, my choice of products has become more "refined" and selective. I know what's best for my eyes, and I know the products that are the easiest to use.
I'm not a fan of MAC Eye Pencils, Sephora Collection Eye Pencils (in all fairness, I was allergic or had some sort of reaction to them which may not be the case for others of you), Maybelline Define-A-Line, Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner, L'Oreal High Intensity Pigment Cream Eyeliner, L'Oreal Smoldering Eye Pencil, and Revlon ColorStay, as well as so many more that I can't recall off the top of my head.
So yeah, I've tried my fair share of eyeliners.
I have sensitive eyes and I don't like things that are too rough on them, obviously, who does? I find that some pencils and other eyeliner products drag your eyelid a bit when you apply them and it drives me nuts. Uh, it hurts! And yes, I've tried the whole "light the tip of the pencil on fire" trick (okay, a little dramatic, but it doesn't make a world of a difference to me).
With these two products, I don't have to try anything! I hit the eyeliner jackpot. It just so happened that one of them is drugstore and the other is a little pricier. I didn't have to "dig" into the two categories to find one of each. They're both genuinely my favorites. I love them so much, check out their ratings below!
Maybelline Master Precise by EyeStudio - approx. $7.99
Next up is a liquid liner by Maybelline. I have gone through tube after tube after tube of this product since my freshman year of college. It's the best liquid liner I've used, and it goes on so easily. It's in a pen-formation, and it doesn't bleed all over the place - very convenient on-the-go. It stays put for about the entire day (8-10 hours, give or take), and the major selling point for me is that "felt pen" style. It's easy to use for beginner liquid liner users, as it already has a tip that goes from large at the base to small at the tip. So, it's awesome for creating little wings - my favorite look. 10 out of 10!
Close runner ups were Kat Von D's Waterproof Autograph Pencil and Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil! Love those too, but the aforementioned praised liners are my absolute favorites!
I hope you all found this post informative and helpful when it comes to buying your next eyeliner! I can't believe just how many liners I've tried. Haha! Let me know if you'd like any more information on them - feel free to tweet me @SabaBok.
