10 Ways to Beat Rainy Day Blues!

When I was younger, I used to dread rainy days. It meant I was confined to my home with nothing to do. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve begun to cherish these days. I am off the hook for canceling plans, and I can wake up to the sound of the rain, which I would otherwise use RainyMood for (seriously, if you haven’t been on that, you don’t know what you’re missing!).

If you’re feeling like kid-me with nothing to do, here are 10 super duper ideas:
  1. Catch up on your schoolwork – Just kidding, no one is going to do that.
  2. Create wish lists and window shop on the internet – *cough cough* Sephora
  3. Take pretty pictures of the rain and take a crack at editing them – Install a free 30-day trial of Photoshop and teach yourself how to edit your pictures, by trial-and-error or by using some handy little tutorial sites.
  4. Organize your makeup collection – Or anything in your home, I just suggested your makeup collection because my current makeup area is a disaster zone.
  5. Plan a future vacation: Imaginary or real!– Look up pictures of your favorite travel destinations, and scroll through some travel-themed tumblr blogs! Marvel, but don’t drool on your screen. Not hot.
  6. Clean up your computer – Sounds silly, but you’ll really regret not doing it when your little laptop faces an untimely death. Scan for viruses, defragment your computer, sort your files into folders, and the like.
  7. Tune up your iTunes Create some new playlists by your mood, the season, and your memories – also feel free to add some more music! Discover new tracks and artists through Pandora. It literally knows everything about you. Everything. Even your SSN. Kidding.
  8. Annoy your family/friends – This is something I very much enjoy. Call up your mom, your grandparents, your sister, your best friend from freshman year – catching up is always fun to do, and it never hurts to reach out.
  9. Have yourself a Netflix marathon You know you want to … I am addicted to Netflix. You can sign up for a free-trial if you don’t already have it. “Watch Instantly” is the best thing that’s ever happened to me (besides being born). Hahaha. I live a sad life.
  10. Catch up on some lovely blogs – My personal favorites are Kaelah Bee and We Seek Joy.
Just remember that the rain will soon pass, even if it's pouring all week long like it is over here. Hope this helped, guys! xo
