It was three degrees when we headed out on our journey so that was rather unpleasant. I was wearing a thick sweater, 2 jackets, 2 scarves, 2 pairs of socks, leggings under jeans, and tall boots. There was slush everywhere in the aftermath of Snowstorm Hercules. Bleh - it was nasty! Luckily, none of us actually fell in it.
We took a bunch of pictures and hit up some hot spots like Rockefeller Center (where the tree is still up & lit - YAY), Bryant Park, the New York Public Library, Times Square, had some lunch at a diner and then went our separate ways.
I took my sister on her first subway ride to 14th to check out Chelsea Market. She's heard me rave about it, so she wanted to hang out there (plus it's warm and indoors so I mean come on - we want to stay alive).
I was a little moody for most of the day because an icicle fell off the top of a building and hit me in the face, RIGHT under my eye. It's a bit puffy now, but I think it'll be alright in time. Just my luck ... hahaha.
Whatever - even in the slush, this city is perfect.
