Birthday Makeup Purchases at Sephora

Hard to believe that I turned 21 two weeks ago.

I never ended up sharing my birthday makeup mini-haul! Okay, it's like three things but whatever they're pretty great choices. I think I hit 90% gold on this one.

The biggest gift I received this year was a MacBook Pro. I've been wanting one for ages, and I'm still in shock that I have one. Sorry, I'm kind of nerding out at the moment. I am using it as we speak ... nice.

Well anyways, here are some of the things I got at Sephora's Giftopia event! That free tote with purchase is EVERYTHING.

As I've touched on earlier in this blog, I LOVE Kat Von D products. They're always so on point. So obviously, when I saw this palette in-store I immediately had to try the shadows all over my arms.

Kat Von D Spellbinding Eyeshadow Palette - $55
[NOTE: SOLD OUT!]

I made a new friend whilst swatching. She was in her late-30's/early-40's and she professed her love for KVD products as well. Well done on this palette, really! Gorgeous colors, super fun, and very pigmented.

This palette is all that I've used on my eyes since I bought it.

Stupid Autocorrect + InstaGlam = MY FAVORITE combination. I'm also a sucker for those names.

Another thing I purchased was this Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder (Shade 03). It's really buildable, smells quite nice (is that weird to say about a powder?) and it is a beautiful color.

Forgot to snap a pic because it's tiny! Whoops!
Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder - $51

My skin color changes like a chameleon. I have a naturally sandy-tan skin color, and it turns close to white in the wintertime and believe me, I'll be a completely different color come summer.

It makes buying foundation a real PAIN. For the MAC fans, to put it in perspective, I've jumped from NC15 to NC35 before. Yes. Really. This is why I tend to alternate my bronzing powders.

I don't go crazy with bronzer, I'm not THAT Jersey. Although this shade looks a little orange on me in my opinion, I still very much like it. I've been alternating between this and NARS Laguna (which is better suited for my tone at this time).

Ok ... this doesn't really count, does it? It's a repurchase because I'm absolutely obsessed with it.

Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray - $29

This setting spray locks my makeup in place and keeps it looking fresh all day. I remember being wild about this around FIT orientation last year. Their program was two days long. I didn't have to touch up until the late evening after doing my makeup at 6 AM. Since it was pretty hectic, I was glad to not worry about that.

Oh, how I've missed this.

And my final purchase was this ...

Can I be completely honest? It's not that great.

Soap & Glory Beginner's Luxe Set - $30

People have been talking about it like it was some sort of miracle brand. I'm sorry - the products smell nice, but they are not life-changing. Well, at least not the ones included in this set.

I didn't notice much of a difference from using it for the past 2 weeks.

It was $30 for this little gift set, which is reasonable. It's not terrible, I just wouldn't buy it again.

So that is all for my little mini-birthday haul. Sephora also threw in two little Benefit samples for their birthday gift (free for beauty insiders). I got a highlighter and They're Real mascara, which I surely plan on buying. That thing is no joke.

I'm in a love-hate relationship with all of these holiday sales. That being said, there may be more hauls in the immediate future.

I parked on the top deck of the parking garage at this mall in Virginia, and look at the sunset. Good vibes for shopping, ha!
